First:
Thank you for coming to my Blog.
My intention was to have a virtual journal to keep those interested in my adventure to Italy abreast of my time studying and performing.

Second:
I figured that if you were coming to the Blog you might have some time to see videos and other posts that are not directly related to La Musica Lirica. I plan to use this section to offer your some other forms of entertainment that I either find insightful or funny.

Enjoy

May, 28: Below is a Family Guy clip. For those of you who know me, I love Baroque and Classical period music. If you know me very well, you'll also know I have a very tender relationship to Beethoven's music - by tender I mean to suggest the tenderness one feels on a bruise or black-and-blue. Tender as in a sensitive pain when I have to hear or play it. I don't mean to diminish (even if I could) Beethoven's impact on the world of music and his significance as a composer and musician. However, I'd rather listen to Schubert or Mozart before Beethoven...

For those of you who empathize with my Beethoven disorder this clip should resonate strongly:
Beethoven Near The End

May, 29: These next videos are self explanatory. Bryn Terfel is fantastic artist, a unique singer and a sweet person. I have had the privilege to meet Mr. Terfel while I was singing with the Collegiate Chorale in New York (collegiate chorale) when he sang Mendelssohn's Elijah and in Verbier Switzerland when he sang Don Giovanni. Please enjoy these videos, I hope they are as insightful for you as they were for me.
